Gatineau Loppet Assumes Leadership of the Voie Verte Half Marathon

Chelsea, Quebec — September 4, 2026 — Gatineau Loppet and Marc Roy Consulting are pleased to announce a new chapter for the Demi-marathon de la Voie Verte. Gatineau Loppet will assume responsibility for organizing this well-established regional running event.

This transition will bring together Gatineau Loppet’s event-management expertise and the distinctive identity the Voie Verte Half Marathon has built since its inception. The event will remain in the heart of Chelsea and continue to showcase the community, local businesses, volunteers, landscapes, and organizations that make it so special.

Above all, this change is intended to secure the event’s long-term future and support its growth. Everything that makes it unique will remain unchanged: its course between Wakefield and Chelsea, its welcoming atmosphere, its volunteers, partners, and local organizations, and its commitment to the Chelsea community.

The event’s founder, Marc Roy, will remain actively involved as a consultant for the next two years. He will work with the Gatineau Loppet team to share his expertise, ensure a smooth transition, and preserve the vision that enabled the Half Marathon to quickly establish itself as a must-attend event.

Over the coming months, the team will meet with partners, organizations, and community members. Event details will be shared gradually on this website and through our social media channels.

Join us on Sunday, August 22, 2027, for the third edition. Registration is now open—we look forward to welcoming you back to the Voie Verte.
